Word Counter
Count words, sentences, paragraphs and reading time.
About this tool
Analyse any text instantly: word count, character count, sentences, paragraphs and estimated reading time. Watch the statistics update live as you type or paste.
How it works
Counting uses a Unicode-aware tokeniser that splits on whitespace while preserving meaningful symbols. Sentences are split on terminal punctuation followed by whitespace. Reading time is estimated at 200 words per minute (and 130 for read-aloud mode).
How to use Word Counter
- 1Type, paste or drag-and-drop text into the editor.
- 2Watch the counters update live as you write.
- 3Use the per-feature analysis for average word length and top keywords.

Examples
An 800-word blog post shows ~3–4 minutes reading time.
A 280-character sentence is counted exactly, including spaces (or excluding, your choice).
Pasting a 10-page document reports paragraphs and unique word count instantly.
